Land of sheep, hakas and lord of the rings fans
Good Afternoon people.
Yes. Different colours I know - you like? If not, please move your mouse to the top right of your screen, and left-click on the small x.
Just arrived in New Zeland and JESUS it's cold. It's the 1st time since leaving Glasgow back in November that I've had to wear a jumper. I thought I'd go with a bit of a colour change now that we've moved on from Australia, our home for the past 5 months.
Sad to see Sydney fade into the darkness as we take off, but looking forward to driving all over NZ!
Last time I talked to you guys, we were in Brisbane. We said our goodbyes to Emma and everyone else and headed on the bus to Byron Bay. We were aiming to take it easy in Byron, but after winning a 6 pack of beer and some money in the pool comp Kristy, Laura and I change our minds.
Cheeky Monkeys is the place to be in Byron. If you're barely 18, pissed out of your face and want to pull ugly 'things', that is. We stand and watch overly-exuberant dancers fall off tables and eventually head to the exit.
The weather wasn't exactly perfect in Byron, but we did manage a wee walk to the most eastern point in Austrlia - Cape Byron...
Rough eh? Usually there's whales and dolphins swimming there, but think we just missed the season. On the way to the lighthouse we spot a quality leg-up opportunity...
A very quick 13 hour bus journey down to Sydney gets us there in the morning and we meet up with our Danish mate Line, who lets us into her appartment to stay for the night! Amazing, Line - thank you so much for letting us take over your appartment, quality!
Millardo and I do our crap souvenir hunting in Sydney, head out for the best pizza in Sydney, and end up in a bar in Kings Cross. Oh dear.
Next day we leave Sydney at 7ish at night, a wee bitty sad as I said before, and grab one last photo of the place...
Bye Bye Sydney. Just before we jumped on the plane, Millardo and I managed to scrape together exactly $8.95 to buy a huge Toblerone - BRILLIANCE!
So it's 21 days here, talk to you all again soon.
Mick
